This website Is my portfolio, blog and personal dumping ground/hub to other social dumping grounds on the web. When I'm not designing (or dumping on the web), I play around with games, music and technology.
I specialise in designing clean, clear and bold interfaces which are easy to use, as well as beautiful. I love using new technologies which benefit users, and focusing on tiny details most people won’t notice or think twice about. I have a firm understanding of what works and what doesn’t, but am constantly learning.
I’ve always been interested in web and screen interfaces, and began teaching myself how to design and build websites in 2004. In-terms of hard paper, I have an education in art and product design, and a degree in Creative Digital Media (which basically means doing cool stuff with digital thingamabobs). However the way I go about my work is largely based on experience from actually doing the job and working with clients and great people. To be honest, that’s where it counts.
During my university degree I worked at Wapple.net, a company focused on building mobile websites and applications. Here I was the sole designer and worked on many great things, with great people and brand. After nearly two years, I decided it was time to move on, so went forth to the central hub of England, Birmingham. I worked as a freelancer for a few months in between employment, but am now a Visual Designer at Substrakt. I feel odd calling it a job, as i’m not really sure it counts as a job if you love what your doing? Either way, i work with some of the most talented people i’ve met so far and love working with a small studio with big ideas.
